Air Vehicle Instrumentation and CBM+
How Ground Systems instrumentation supports CBM+ without performing the analytics.

What Ground Systems does and does not do
- Ground Systems does not perform CBM+ analytics.
- Ground Systems does not make maintenance decisions from raw aircraft data.
- Ground Systems provides instrumentation or equipment that enables access to aircraft data.
- The data may later support health monitoring, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and sustainment analysis.
Recommended requirement wording
Recommended
"Air Vehicle Instrumentation shall provide the capability to access data collected from the air vehicle to support CBM+ and Program Health Monitoring activities."
Alternative
"Air Vehicle Instrumentation shall interface with the common junction panel to access and distribute aircraft data in support of aircraft sustainment and health monitoring activities."
Ground Systems Scope
Ground Systems supports data access and distribution. It does not own the flight data recorder, common junction panel, aircraft sensors, CBM+ analytics, or maintenance decisions unless explicitly assigned by program scope.
